When you get a dog from a shelter or you just get the puppy of your dreams one of the first thing you want to teach your dog  is to come to you when you call him. When you teach your dog the come cue it is very important to use a positive and happy tone 100% of the time. We want to teach our dog that every time we call him there is something good waiting for him

In this excurses we going to use our voice and encouragement to make our dog look and come to us and food to reword our dog for responding to us

 

Step one

  1. have 20 small treat in a training pouch (pee size)

  2.  come close to your dog 

  3.  say his name and put one treat in him mouth (repeat 10 time without breaks)

  4. now that you left with 10 treat in your hand 

  5. say your dog name and wait that he turn his head to you or look at you when he dose give him a treat (repeat ten time without breaks)

 

Step two

  1. have 20 small treat in a treat pouch (pee size)

  2.  stand one feet from your dog say his name and wait when he looking at you when he dose encourage him to start walk toward you, when he get to you give one treat and love.

  3. wait for your dog to stop looking at you for another treat and he start wondering around the room now when he is not looking at you say his name again repeat 20 times (gradually add distance)

   

Step three

  1. have 20 small treat in your treat pouch(pee size)

  2. .hide from your dog in a deferent room when he can’t see you and call his name don't stop calling him until he get to you (don't tempt to say come we working first on name) 

  3. when he get to you give him a toy that he really see just in training and he like a lot or high value treat like hot dog or cheese I recommend to switch every time to different reword that your dog love so he will wonder what I’m getting today     

 

Step four 

Maintain

 

Try to call your dog sometime and remind him that every time he hear his name and come to you something good waiting for him
