Have ten small treats in your hand, and put your hand next to your dog’s nose. When your dog realizes you have a treat, give him one, and take one step back, if he follows you and his nose touches your hand, give one treat again.
-
Now try two steps back and so on.
-
practice till your dog follows your hand consistently each time you walk back, you can then lead him to sit
Eye Contact/Watch Me

Eye Contact/watch me
Eye contact used to get your dog’s attention. By getting your dog attention first before asking for a cue, your dog will know you are talking to him and be more drawn to listening. Obtaining this awareness will help you train your dog, and control him outside of the training area.
Practicing eye contact
-
Have a treat in your hand.
-
Put the treat next to your eye. Your dog will look at the treat, but for a second, she will look into your eyes, when she does, say good and give the treat.
-
Practice this exercise until your dog follows your hand and looks straight into your eyes each time you lure her.
Adding “watch me”
1. Have a treat in your hand.
2. Say watch me and lure your dog to look into your eyes, when your eyes meet say good and give her a treat.
3. Practice this exercise until your dog looks into your eyes every time you say watch me with or without a treat
