SIT

When we are teaching our dog to sit on cue, we need to remember that sit is a natural position for our dogs. Our dogs sit many times during the day on their own, so is fairly easy to teach. sit is a basic behavior but very powerful it help prevent unwanted behavior and can be offer as a alternative for miss behavior like jumping

Shaping the Sit Cue
(we not saying sit yet)

-
Have a treat in your hand, with your dog standing in front of you.
-
Put the treat close to your dog’s nose and up over his head, Lure/guiding him into a sit position
-
When he sits, click or say good and give one treat.
-
repeat until your dog sit almost automatically when you start luring him into a sit
