Advanced obedience training
From the Living Room to the Real World: Mastering Advanced Basic Obedience

Does your dog act like a "star puppy" at home, but suddenly forgets their name the moment you step outside? You aren't alone! Many owners feel frustrated when their dog’s training seems to "go out the window" in public.
It’s easy to assume your dog is simply being stubborn or choosing to ignore you, but the reality is more scientific: Dogs are situational learners. A "Sit" in a quiet kitchen feels completely different to a dog than a "Sit" at a busy park with squirrels, bikes, and new smells.
Advanced Basic Obedience is the bridge between a "house-trained" dog and a "world-ready" companion. We take the foundation you’ve already built and "proof" it against the distractions of the real world.
Taking the Essentials to the Next Level

We revisit your core cues, but this time, we add the Three D’s: Distance, Duration, and Distraction.
-
Eye Contact & Luring: Moving beyond treats to keep focus even when a cat runs by or another dog barks.
-
Sit & Down: Ensuring your dog stays settled whether you’re at a sidewalk cafe or a busy vet’s office.
-
Stay: Increasing the challenge so your dog remains steady even if you walk out of sight or drop a toy nearby.
-
Come (Recall): Reliability is everything. We practice getting your dog to choose you over the most exciting distractions in the environment.
-
Leave It & Give It: Essential for safety in public spaces where "treasures" (like trash or dropped food) are everywhere.
-
Go to Your Place: Generalizing this cue so your dog can settle on a portable mat at a friend’s house or a park bench.
-
Let’s Go / Heel: Mastering a loose leash while navigating crowds, tight corners, and high-traffic areas.
-
Why Advanced Training is the Game-Changer
The goal of this training isn't just to "test" your dog—it's to build their confidence. When a dog knows exactly what is expected of them in a noisy or busy environment, their anxiety goes down and their focus goes up.
By challenging your dog in new locations, you are proving to them that listening to you is always the most rewarding choice, no matter where you are.
